I have a 2011 GMC sierra 1500 5.3/6l80 4x4 and I need to swap the engine. Ive never done a swap on these trucks so I'm just looking for any and all advice on what to get off and out of the way, I'm leaving the tranny in place. Seems to have plenty of room but I wanna hear any who's had experience with this engine and era of trucks.

Pull radiator and top of core support, last 5.3 I pulled I had to strip most of front of motor and turn engine sideways to clear both the core support and firewall plastics over wipers and stuff....truck was getting scrapped so I just beat it up and pulled motor, if it's ur truck ur gonna keep spend the time and take sum more stuff off. I'm finally gonna pull the 6.0 that's gonna go in my 09 tonite, gonna get the Milwaukee hackzall out and cut core support rite out this time sine donor truck is scrap.
