AC not working
2009 silverado ... single unit climate control blows hot air only ... compressor turns of and on
fan speeds work ... do I need to buy a blend door actuator or how do I unstick it if stuck ?

It could be the blend door Sometimes if you get down near the CC box you can hear them move. That said, you might want to check your A/C pressures. Are the High and low lines getting cold and hot?
