My airbag warning has been on and every single video I have watched for a 2009 Chevy Silverado shows the same sensor that needs to be changed. I went online to Rock Auto and put in my truck type and it showed me and I bought the same sensor that is in all the videos because it suggested the same one. When I went to replace it, what I have on my truck does not look the same. I do not want to take it off and then it now work, so does anyone recognize what this is under my truck?? I have attached photos of what is under my truck and what it is I am supposed to have.....I assume

 

that is an impact sensor.
either they updated the design or its the wrong part. know who won't get it wrong...dealer parts dept.

phone the dealer parts dept and ask if the part has been updated. maybe they can show you a pic.

 

Ok this is what I have since found out after doing more "online research." They changed the part in 2010 (mine being a 2009) and they sent me one for a 2010 part (Dorman 590-224) when I needed a 590-225 which is pictured here. Thanks for the help, I guess I have to order another part now....
