2008 Silverado 1500; I worked out of the country for almost a year and when I received several notices of airbag recall. I called the dealer and was informed the bags are on backorder and to bring the truck
in for nspection. My question is has anyone else been to a dealer for an "inspection only" and if so just what are they inspecting? If it's a recall and they're going to replace it what are they inspecting?

They are inspecting your airbag for the passenger side to obtain model and serial # that was installed in your truck . I had this done for my 07 Silverado back in Feb.
