Cruise control isn't working in my truck,any ideas? The steering wheel button lights up but not on the cluster, and does not engage.

 

I had the same problem on my 2008 Suburban. It turned out to be that the brake switch had to be replaced. It was a low cost DIY fix and only took about a half hour.
May not be the fix for your vehicle, but, it was back up and working on my Suburban on the first test run.

 

I just had this fixed at the dealers as it was under 30 day used truck warrantee. They replaced the brake sensor . Works now.
