Front/Rear Aluminum Wheel Question
I have a 2013 Chevy Silverado 3500 HD Dually. After some damage to my front passenger aluminum wheel, I purchased a replacement that happened to be for a “rear” wheel. I have been told if it was a steel wheel, there would not be a difference between front and rear, but with aluminum there is a difference in the offset which will affect the ride.
Can someone clarify if there is a difference for the aluminum wheels, and if I should be concerned? I would like to just use the wheel I bought, but I don’t want there to be any issues in the long term,
Thanks!

Thanks for the response Henry! It seemed obvious to me that there wouldn’t be a difference in the aluminum rims/wheels since the comments I read said if they were steel it wouldn’t matter. However, it is a little more comforting to get a second opinion from someone who seems to have more knowledge!
Cheers!

SOME dually trucks are built with bigger tires in on the rear axle if they’re expected to be used as a service/custom truck (such as a tool truck) because the rear axle will be supporting more weight and there’s not a front to rear axle rotation pattern. But this is an option and something the original purchaser would have asked for.
If the tires on the front and rear axles are the same size, there’s no difference in the rims.
