Default HELP rat chewed through my wires. 2009, 2500 HD

Hi, super frustrated right now. This is going to seem like a stupid question because it should be such an easy fix. I have searched everywhere, this is my final effort. I'll attach a photo to help. A rat has chewed through my wires to my coolant temperature sensor ( and a few others that I can fix) but I cant find where the other end is. There are the two wires coming out of the sensor but where the heck is the other end of the separation ?? I've searched everywhere for the other end of chewed wires. You would think they would be right there next to the chewed end. NOT... These rats can be smart enough to continue down the wire and chew to harvest the wires for their nest. Cannot find any sign of the other end. I really feel Ive looked everywhere ( 2 hours now). Can someone send me a photo or something to point me in the right direction? See photo. Thanks!
Also, this is my first time posing. If Ive done something wrong please feel free to correct me

The connector looks like this. ECT is pin 8

Thank you MMJ, I'll take a look.
What I think would be additionaly helpful is to see a photo of the factory routing of the wire from the sensor. if anyone can help, that would be greatly appreciated.

here's what I would do . Find this connector (the one in the drawing.) Find the ECT wire on pin 8 (should be the same color as the sensor wire, tan I think). Open the harness loom and follow the wire. You're going to have to repair it anyway. Follow it until you find where it got chewed off and then repair it. The rest of the "routing" is just through the air like the other sensors.

I was just heading down to do that. Thanks so so much! I'll try to contribute in the future. I do know a few things.

Ok...deep breath...I'm getting somewhere. I found the other end using the braille method. Its under the large coolant pipe. cant add pigtails. I did what you said at the connector. Just going to run new wires from the connector. One last question. Looks like the wire going to pin 4 is yellow like the one chewed off. Is that my other wire?

Correct .
The tan wire is your low voltage reference (5V I believe)
Yellow is the actual temperature signal. (which is pin 4 on the big connector)
The ground return path is through the engine block.
