What I found with my new scan/diagnostic tool was my steering shaft was an entire revolution off center . This is monitored in degrees either direction from “Center Steer” the position referenced by the computer as straight ahead .
Also there are numerous “SAS” Steering angle sensors out there as well as updated sensors and harness connector changes between models and model years ( for instance my 07 silverado has a 6 pin sensor and corresponding harness connector that has been discontinued for quite some time , When it actually fails I will have to upgrade to the 8 pin sensor and 8 pin harness connector as well as determine what pins need to connect to my existing harness . It’s gonna be a challenge for sure )
Make absolutely sure that you have the proper sensor and that the steering wheel is set the 0 degrees when wheels are straight forward .
This is Not determined visually it relies on the sensor and not the steering wheel spokes .
You might also want to do thorough inspection of all the fuses in the Under-hood fuse panel .
I had 6 of mine actually corroded into an open state near the stabs and the Body control module and abs modules were getting intermittent power interruptions . I also had poor/ corroded connections on 3 of the relays as well .
I applied “Truck-Lite NYK-77” corrosion preventive compound to the sockets and the stabs of every fuse and relay .
Also removed the fuse panel and applied the compound to the wiring harness connections underneath the the fuse panel .

I hope this helps you .
