08 Silverado 1500. Every 2 years or less I'm having to buy a new ignition key. Not able to turn the ignition to the on or start position no matter how many times I try. If I buy a new key from the dealer it works great for a few years at best.
Could this possibly be an ignition cylinder problem? Locksmith told me buy a new key and if it works then that's the problem as the key over a period of time wears down. To tell you the truth I can't see the difference between the old and new key.
Also, if I change the cylinder is it possible to have one key instead of a door and cylinder key?
