I bought a used 2003 chevy malibu and was given one key. I discovered that I have to flip the key the same way in order for it to turn the ignition. I had a chevy dealer cut a new key but this won't turn the ignition at all. I went back and they cut another key and it doesn't work either.

So, I tried some powdered graphite in the ignition to no avail. Then the original key stopped working until many attempts at jiggling, re-inserting, etc. I finally got it to work after flipping it the other way (the original way I used to try stopped working). Should I have the ignition replaced?

Any suggestions?
