Smile 95 Lumina Ignition Blank Ignition Key

Hi Everyone,

My nephew has a 95 Lumina. His first car. We bought the car from a marine dealership, of all places. It was in the back lot sitting there for 4 years. Catalytic converter gone (missing, stolen) and some other things. We towed it to his home and we worked on it together so I could show him some basic stuff like brakes, shocks, etc. Its running good now, except for the AC, but that's another story. I was worried about the VATS system failures I have seen in many posts and bypassed the resistor pellet from the ignition switch with an 1130 ohm resistor (same value as the pellet in the ign. key). Starts and runs OK. Our problem is, he only has one ignition key and I can't find another blank ignition key without the pellet. I don't want to spend $30 for a pellet key I don't need. I'm looking for a blank ign. key with or preferably without the pellet, that I can take anywhere and have it cut so it will turn the ignition mechanically. I tried the usual, Home Depot, Lowes, Aubuchon, Benny's, no one has the key. Anyone know where I can find such a key?

Thanks for reading this post and I appreciate any help you can give us.

I believe you can get a key without the pellet cut to your car from the dealerships parts dept for cheap. (less than $10) or look below
