Default Ignition tumbler replacement

I have to wiggle my key in the tumbler to get my truck to start. Gonna replace the whole tumbler with new keys. Can I reprogram the keys by myself? Using the old key before I replace the tumbler. Thanks in advance

That is a very good question! My 98 K-1500 Chevy has no key fob, but my 2015 Malibu does. I've done as you have stated when making up a couple of key fobs, and it does reprogram them, but I am not certain your Chevy pickup. Have you ever done it before? If so, I'd be willing to bet it will work.

I've looked up how to program keys before but I was wondering if anyone programmed new keys to the new tumbler before replaced.
