LY6 model year compatability

LY6 model year compatability
I have a 2007 (new body style) 2500HD, VIN K LY6 6.0, and I'm looking for a replacement engine.
The engine I want is the GM Performance long block 19209063.

The catch is, this particular new GM engine is listed as only compatible with model years '09-'10. On the other hand, almost every remanufactured engine I've seen is listed as compatible with all four years of LY6 from '07-'10. This doesn't make sense to me.
My question, is there any reason this engine won't work in my 2007? Are all four years of LY6 the same?
I called Summit and got nowhere. She said something to the effect of "model years don't matter, you can put any engine in any vehicle." Really? Thanks a lot lady...
