Default Outer tie rods

2007 Silverado LS Classic 1500 4x4 5.3B - I'm replacing the outer tie rods and discovered today that the 2007 Silverados either have "smooth door skin" or "creased". (mine is creased) Many parts don't interchange. I purchased two today that were the correct length, but upon installation, I found they had too small of a tapered bolt / stem. After some research online I discovered there are two different size bolts. Can anyone help me with more info, part numbers, or where to find more info? Thanks!

Hi, try GMPartsGiant.com, and enter the VIN, then search Front Axle, Front Suspension, Steering > Steering Linkage for the tie rod ends.

you can have a 2007 old body style/classic or a 2007 new body style that looks like the one in the gmt 900 picture. If you have a classic and it looks like a 2006 bodystyle...try a 2006 part.

Default Tie rod figured out

I figured it out on my 3rd trip to town (25 minutes) and a different parts store. 2nd set had right length but bolt / tapered stem was too small. 3rd store had nothing to match. As a last gasp effort I told him to try an HD. It matched and is installed. Not sure if that is the same as the 06’, but I will keep in mind. Thanks. M
