Default Radio Replacement - No Crank

Radio Replacement - No Crank

I have a 2008 Chevy Silverado. My buddy and I attempted to do a radio replacement and now the truck will not crank.

The wires were cut from the harness but I’ve made sure the wires matched and have a secure connection. I’ve bought a new battery and check all of the fuses.

When attempting to turn the truck on, the cabin lights will turn on and radio will play but you do not hear the relay kick in or fuel prime. The anti theft light pops up momentarily but goes away after roughly 3 blinks.

Has anyone ran into this issue? I’d love to have my truck back!

Note: I put the original radio back in. This was a lesson learned for me. I now know there are adapters for the harness so you no longer need to cut them. It seemed like an easy and fun project to do, but now I know to research it a bit more next time! Thank you for any advice you share! 😁

Welcome to Chevy - did replacing the original radio solve your problem?

When the truck du not start, I put the original radio back in to see if it would start and it is in the same condition. I’ve checked all fuses and they are good.

Welcome from Florida. Apparently, when you cut the wires you either cut one you should not have cut or reconnected them wrong. go through the wiring again.

Sounds good, I’ll go back through them and see if one was accidentally cut.
