Good morning. I am stumped and would like some of y'alls thoughts. Bought a 07 Chevy Silverado Z71 5.3L a while back.
It was having some issues shifting because of grinding. I replaced the shift link cable which did help, for a time.
One day sitting at a stop sign, tried to go again, and it was dead in the water. Would not move at all in any gear.
The truck was wrecked and rebuilt but they removed the 4wd out of the truck. Now I know if a transfer case goes bad in
a 4wd truck, it would still move in 2wd, but what if now it is only a 2wd truck?
I just do not think it is the trans because there was none of the usual signs of it failing. It seems to shift in gears just fine other than
it grinds to put it in park and take it out of park. It also rolls in park if pushed.

 

Seems the transfer case is in neutral (if it still has one)
