Default Trying to figure it out towing

Gents,

I understand towing, and I understand payload is the 1st door to unlock. I know this, I am just confused.
I know alot of people may have posted what they think, but I have a couple simple questions.

I have used the GM decoder here and it shows my truck with a max trailering weight of 10400. I have contacted GM and the dealer. But i can not get a actual answer. RPO codes show HD trans cooler and exterior engine cooler. 46MM mono tube shocks. 36MM stabilizing bar. Z85 and Z82 packages.

What was included in the 2009 Chevrolet Silverado Max Trailering Package?

Weird that GM corp AND the dealer couldn't tell you. They are the only ones who are able to tell you every last detail about your vehicle.

Anyway, I guess you'll just have to use your eyeballs.

RPO codes can be googled.

This is what the GM brochure says: Trailering Package: includes trailer hitch platform, seven-wire harness mated to seven-way sealedconnector, trailer brake control jumper harness under dash, sealed connector for center high-mounted brake lamp and external transmission oil cooler

Thanks, I have used the vin decoder from this forum and from what I can gather I have everything needed for the NHT without the actual RPO code. To the most recent years definition they call for everything I have plus a 6.0 and a 4.10 rear.

Thinking I will be ok at about 8500. For only pulling 5-6 times a year and all but one time will be about 1 hr from home and no mountains or anything like that to worry about.

aren't the max weights all listed in the owners manual. it was for my 2000 and 2006 chevy trucks
all you need to know is the axle ratio, transmission, engine

Want to thank everyone for the input. I have since picked up a 03 Silverado 2500HD for towing my travel trailer. Should be well off now, pretty sure this has everything I need for the max weight of 9100lb(only weighting about 8500 though).
