Default 08-11 RPO Codes (HD Towing)

Looking to replace my Yukon XL with a late model Suburban and I'm find most of the used ones are not telling me if they have the HD towing package. What RPO code in the glove box should I be looking for. For the GMC the Z82 code was for heavy duty towing. Is that the same on all the GM trucks now.

Regards,

Matthew

For the 2011 model year the Z82 package includes trailering hitch platform, 7-wire harness with independent fused trailering circuits mated to a 7-way sealed connector and a 2" trailering receiver. The heavy duty towing package is the K5L which includes an auxiliary external transmission oil cooler and engine oil cooler, which provides increased trailering capabilities. The actual heavy duty suspension package is the Z85 which is only for the 3/4 ton models. This information is true for both the Yukon XL and Suburban and the 2010 and 2009 models as well. I hope this informaiton helps you.

I have a 2005 Suburban LT (5.3L) that has the following codes. I am trying to make sure this is an adequate tow vehicle. I'm not sure if it has the external trans cooler. My suburban has these codes: VR4, Z82, CW5

Thanks for any help.
