Default Will this work???

I was thinking of relocating the battery on my 2012 Silverado by making up some extension cables and connecting them to the existing cable ends where the battery is now...

And, run them over the battery tray at the driver's side front of the truck and place the batter there.

I'll no longer have a battery in the stock location on the passenger side... and will put the battery at the driver's side front of the truck

Just curious if there is any reason why this wouldn't work if I make a good connection to the existing cable ends at the passenger side where the batter is placed originally.

this doesn't belong in the off topic lounge. Please post in the correct section.

I'd rather have it in the front left corner... which is where batteries normally go.
There's already a batter tray there.

Much easier to get to when it's time to change batteries.

And, it's easier to get to when jump starting as well.

If the cables are going to be longer they need to be a thicker gauge - and I would run new cables, don't splice to the old ones

normally according to who. Mine have always been on the right.

if I do a random internet search for silverado battery images ... they're mostly on the right.

OK, thanks.

normally according to who.
I've owned several GM trucks over the years and the battery is always on the driver's side front until the newer trucks started doing this I guess in the 2000s sometime.

There's already a battery tray in the left front and since it's my truck.... that's where I want my batter to be placed at.

You know...just because I can!

I don't have a bunch of extra accessories running so I don't need a second battery

you probably could go to the bone yard and get factory cables from a dual set up and everything would be plug and play vs making up your own cables or buying a premade cable that doesn't quite fit.

its yr truck...do what you want.
