It is the screen digitizer. This topic has been around for years, the screen digitizer goes bad and needs to be replaced.

If you dont use the CD player, may as well upgrade the whole head unit to a larger size touch screen. You can get 10" and 12" on Ebay for $200-$400. Obviously you get what you pay for cause the 10" & 12" will only have 2GB or 4GB of RAM respectively (which is still better than the factory units). If you want to go full on tesla size touch screen, AuCar has a 14" fully optimized head unit but its $1200 https://aucarauto.com/product/tesla-...ies-2015-2019/ If you go with AuCar, get the upgraded 8GB RAM unit for faster screen response and overall performance. I installed the AuCar unit for a friend of mine on his 2016, it only takes about 2 hours and doesnt require any dash modifications because its pretty much just plug n play. The time consuming part is going over all the wiring/plug connections to make sure everything is right and then initial set up can take some time to go through all the settings.

I have a 2017 Silverado 2500 hd and I am too having radio issues. There are many videos on youtube about this problem. I have replaced the touch screen and the digitizer. The problem was fixed for about a month. Then while using my cell phone connected bluetooth I noticed something else. while on phone calls playing through the truck my cell would mute the calls and the display on the radio would show paused. I called my buddy at the local gm dealer and he said maybe my cell phone was the issue. He also told me gm was having an issue with the shark fin antenna on the roof. That they were filling with water and corroding causing all kinds of unexplained problems. I pulled the headliner down on the drivers side and pulled the antenna. it was full of water and corroded. Gm wanted $300.00 for the antenna. I got the gm part number and ordered it from rockauto.com for $79.00. When the antenna arrived 2 days later. I replaced it and the problem has gone away. Three months now no issues. Hopefully this help you guys

Default Jumps around

Im actually sick of the radio issues. Ive done several things all these "mechanics" say will fix/reset it. One guy put a new face/screen on his. Supposedly worked but why???? Ill prob just relace the whole thing. Chevorlet never wants to own up to their crappy issues . They strung me along for 2 weeks about the top of my 17 solverado cab delaminating when their answer was to try to sell me another newer truck

Thanks
