Angry 2018 Silverado 1500 5.3L 97,500 miles $20K in repairs

Hi all, I have a 2018 Silverado 1500 with just under a 100K miles, 6" lift on 35's. In the last two years I have spent almost $20K replacing the a/c system, transmission, a couple of electronic boards and most recently the oil pump. Has anyone else experienced this or something similar. Seems like really excessive repairs on a truck that's under 100K miles. Service as suggested by the manufacturer. Talked to the dealership where I've purchased multiple vehicles from, they suggested a new truck, but I've lost all faith in chevy trucks. Thanks for any feedback.

Welcome from Florida. $20,000 does sound excessive, but we don't know your driving habits or if you use the truck for towing or off road! Is doing the 6" lift and the 35's part of the $20,000, if so then it might not be so bad.

Thanks for the reply and good points on my description...the lift and 35's were part of the initial buy, the 20K was for the repairs mentioned. I drive 99% of the time just back and forth to work - all pavement, i don't tow or haul anything and only take it off road a few times a year, dirt roads at the dove field or sand at the beach - nothing too rough. I have noticed that the repairs started once a major road expansion project started in my area - the transitions from new roads to where they were removing the old were pretty rough. Got it back yesterday from replacing the oil pump, hopefully that's the last for a while.

Wow! That is a lot of repairs on a truck that is only 6 years old! I've got maintenance records on my 1996 C1500 in a spreadsheet, and to-date the total on 28+ year old truck with 201,700 miles is only $4400. Original engine and transmission still, with no rebuilds yet.

I'm with you in hoping you've got it all solved now and can now enjoy your truck.
