First Stupid Question of the day...Does anyone know the exact fuel capacity for my 2018 SilveradoHD Work-Truck 4x4 Crew Cab with the Vortec 6.0 V8 Gas Engine...I have been looking everywhere, in the Owners Manual it States 36 Gallons but I was told by the Dealer 23 Gallons...Every-time I fill-up the Tank my Gauge reads 3/8 full and it takes me around 22. gallons to fill it up.. So can someone ease my mind... That sounds about right for a 36 gallon tank...

 

Short bed pickups use smaller fuel tanks 18-24 gallons. Most Chevy long bed pickups use 34-36 gallon fuel tanks. The dealer is mistaken..

 

Oh, Oh, it is a Short 6 1/2 bed...Why Can't they just list all the model capacity's instead of just a few...I still think its a 36 as i had over a 1/4 tank and put in 22.5 gallons today, i am going to solve this once and for all and drive it until the idiot light comes on and then fill it...

When I mentioned short beds, I was speaking of half ton pickups, like a 1500 with a short bed. Even those have
a 25 gallon fuel tank these days. Back in the day, a shorty pickup would have a 16 to 20 gallon fuel tank.
