Hello, I have a 2015 Silverado 1500. I was driving at about 60mph on the highway and my truck backfired extremely hard and the check engine light came on. It’s running fine, all gauges are normal and it was running fine before it happened. Can anybody tell me what would cause this?

 

Could be a few things, if the check engine light came on, get the code read, and post.

I think that is what happened, your truck overloaded with gas, and had an ignition that caused your backfire. How many miles, and what type maintenance have you done? You should also check your evap system.

 

I just got it in June, and have done all the required maintenance since. Just went over 110k
