Burning Gas
Hey everybody new here. Having some issues with my 2015 Silverado 1500 5.3. It has 140K miles on it. I’ve been having some issues the last couple weeks with it surging at idle and exhaust sounding “wet like”. I’ve swapped a million things already and fixed the surging idle and wet sounding exhaust. Today I noticed I’m flying through fuel. I commute everyday 67 miles to work. All highway. 134 round trip. I’ve noticed I’m flying through gas. Today on my way home I was at 3/8 of a tank, so I looked at my miles till empty and it said 207. So quick math I know it’s rough but that’s saying each 1/8 of a tank should be roughly 69 miles. So I set my trip calculator, went through an 1/8 of a tank and had only gone 43 miles.
new MAF, new MAP, new spark plugs, new air filter, new purge solenoid, new thermostat, new engine temp. Sensor. On a scanner my fuel pressure is good, and injector pressure is good. No sound from fuel pump or anywhere. I’m lost. Had a mechanic on base (active duty hobby shop) and he’s puzzled as well. Any advice would be great. Thank you.
