Causes of gas in my oil

I think the gas pumps in my area in Ohio say that their gas contains up to 15% ethanol. It could be 10%, I will have to check next time I buy gas. I have never thought of using E85 as a flex fuel option

E85 is more common in some states than others. Please report your findings if any.

Luckily I have another vehicle so I don't have to drive this exclusively. What would be a good brand and style scanner to obtain? I have an older Innova not sure of the model number right off hand but I don't think it performs the fuel parameter testing you were talking about

I believe it would have to be a tool that supports bidirectional commands/special functions.
