Default Causes of gas in my oil

Hello all, new member here hoping to learn about Silverados 5.3 L. I have a 2014 5.3 and my oil level seems to rise on my dipstick it smells a little like gas and I'm almost positive it's not coolant because my coolant level stays the same always. I'm wondering if faulty seals on my fuel injectors or a faulty injector could be the cause of this. Any other directions I should go as far as finding the problem?

do you have any other symptoms?
malfunction indicators? Rough idle or misfiring? Smoky exhaust or sooty tailpipe? Have you check fuel trims with a diagnostic tool?

Although faulty/dripping injectors could certainly cause an issue, oil dilution usually just caused by excessively rich mixture (have you changed your air filter and cleaned out the intake?) . Bad seals would cause fuel outside the engine, not inside. The other possibility is too much blow-by.

The truck runs very well with no symptoms that I can tell. No diagnostic lights are on. I will check the air filter and clean the intake I have just recently bought the truck. I have not checked any fuel parameters I don't have that equipment. I have a basic OBD tool that can check fault codes and turn off check engine lights but that's about all it does. I'm guessing a blow-by problem would be the worst of consequences. The level on my dipstick seems to go up fairly quickly. About a half a quart in the last 400 miles or so. I really don't feel comfortable driving it that way

I don't blame you.
Is it a flex fuel engine by any chance?

Possibly a PCV valve problem? The exhaust does not seem excessively black or abnormal

I don't believe it's flex fuel but if it has the Yellow gas cap that means it is doesn't it? It does have a yellow gas cap

Yes gas cap says it uses E85 if you want but there's no nomenclature on the truck itself saying Flex Fuel which I've always seen in the past. Guess I better enter the VIN number and find out and maybe take it in for a diagnostic check that you mentioned about the fuel parameters. Thanks much for your advice I appreciate it

maybe. I could see if there were excess vacuum in the crankcase.

yeah there you go. I have 2013 5.3 with FF too and it's constantly bugging out and running too rich.

pay special attention to the alcohol content.
There is a technical bulletin about it. It will suddenly jump to 70% or more (despite using regular E10) and cause the engine to start dumping fuel.
GM's "solution" is to clear the parameter and carry on. Of course the problem just keeps returning. I really goddamn hate all this green bullcrap.

Going to replace the PCV valve and clean out the intake and go from there. The truck only has 96,000 miles on it. I thought I got a beauty but I guess looks can be deceiving

Find a scan tool and check the alcohol content parameter. If it's too high you'll roast your catalytic converters.
