I own a 2018 Silverado 3500 diesel which was purchased new as a pickup box delete. I would like to add fog lights using the existing wiring harness and would like to know how to find the J101 connector under the hood. I have an OEM headlight switch with the integral fog light pushbutton in it and the under hood fuse panel already has the fuse installed (factory) for the lamps. I have been able to find various OEM GM wiring diagrams for the vehicle but no locations for connectors. Can anyone advise? Thank you Bill
To clarify - J101 refers to a splice in the factory harness. X101 refers to the connector. In this case, both are in the same location - I just wanted you to be aware of the difference because that’s how GM labels their wiring diagrams.
In the illustration below (as though viewing the front bumper fasciae from the inside), #1 is X101 and #4 is J101.
Thank you for the information. As an electrician, I'm used to something being labeled starting with a "J" as a jack or plug. I believe I found, just need to get to it. Is the picture you provided from a GM manual such as from Helm or other source? Thanks again
