Default Frame rust

I’m looking at a 2015 Sierra 1500, but concerned about rust on the frame. The truck has everything that I’m looking for including the 6.2 motor with 71k and it’s the right price. Should I pass on it because of the rust or is it normal?

those pics are surface rust. for 140$ have it inspected by a tech on a hoist...they can go thru the entire frame and check fuel and brake lines also. hammer on the frame and poke with screw driver to find soft spots. cab corners are other soft spots to have checked.

looks like there still plenty of good metal left there. Use the rust as bargaining leverage.
