need to change gearing in my 2014 Silverado. It has 3.08 now and the previous owner put 35" tires on it. Got an estimate from the dealer but he says I cannot put 4:10 in there . The lowest that will fit is 3.73. This does not sound right because the truck was available with 4:10 gearing.
Can anyone say for sure the 4:10 gear set will fit in my housings ?

 

Have you considered that the 2014 with the 4:10 gearing used a different differential than the one with 3:08 or 3:73?
