I've had after market , and factory remote in an 06, and 08 silverado. The aftermarket remote, I'd set defrost or a/c whatever the weather dictated, no issue. The factory remote start did nothing other than start.

 

he doesn't want an answer. the question was a decoy. all the info for the remote start system is in his owners manual. The dark side of the force he is on....reason, he no longer sees.
