The gas mileage is terrible, the engine ticks loudly the transmission does not shift properly, the tires look like they are ready to be replaced with only 18000 miles on them, very small hail will dent this truck, amf fuel management does not activate properly, but the dealership says all this is normal I had to take it back for recall on the seat belts, The ticking noise was not there when I test drove this truck dealership tells me the noise is the fuel direct injection

oh...you came here to vent not for help.
if its any consolation, direct injection gas engines...the injectors do tick loudly. injecting fuel into a cylinder requires a powerful injector to handle the high fuel pressure. Have a listen to another truck with direct injection.

-factory oem tires for pretty much all makes; are done before the truck is off warranty....sooner if towing. if the tires have irregular wear...get an alignment.

-Can't comment on the trans concern but don't compare the truck to your old vehicle...compare it to another truck of the same year with the same build. The trans is built different so will have different shift qualities/ timing. for example; The new dodge 8 and 9 speed trans used dog clutches, built for efficiency...it takes more time for downshifts... but new owners think it should downshift faster like their old vehicle.
if the dealers keep telling you the problems are normal operation...have them show you on a similar build

Thank you tech 2 I am sorry for venting I just think expensive trucks should work as advertised and engineered to do after all I could have bought a used truck or just kept the old one I had for 20 years I guess my expectations are too high! thank you for all the information. I will try to stop complaining and just deal with the choice I made!
