Truck won't move in reverse in extreme cold
Hi all,
As the topic says, in extreme cold (-20 celcius and colder) my truck will properly shift to reverse - but unless given extreme amount of throttle will not move. I have the 5.3L and I believe it is mated with the 6L80 tranny. Truck has 198,000 KM and I saw on the work history the torque convertor was already replaced once at 135,000 KM (which I thought was a little unusual) - so the current torque convertor only has 63,000 KM on it.
If I let the truck idle for 20 minutes until the transmission fluid temp reaches around 5 degrees or warmer, things move fairly better... but not practical.
I just did a dealership fluid flush and fill on the tranny and transfer case hoping the issue would go away, but no luck.
Any thoughts where to begin? Thanks!
