What happened to Chevy
What happened to Chevy.
We have been Chevy people for quite a while. We recently took our truck 2016 2500HD in for evap codes at a dealership in Venice fl, we asked dealer to check transmission fluid, We were told the transmission was shot, ???. The truck slipped a couple of times going through gears over a period of three years, Not a big deal, but asked them to check. we were told by a friend to bring it somewhere else for another opinion. we took it to a Chevy dealer in Bradenton Fl. they had truck for three days and found nothing wrong. have put 2000 miles on since and it is fine. We had bought GM Platinum warranty for this truck due to the fact that our 2011 Chevy Cruz Bought new at a dealer had several things fail at 70,000 miles, including the transmission. When told the transmission had failed on our truck they told us not to worry as we had the warranty. We had service before on the truck under this warranty but now with the transmission shot they told us they were cancelling our warranty because the truck had company logo on it even though it was registered as my personal vehicle and it had the lettering on it on the previous repairs. We then found out that GM sells it's warranty to another company (Amynta Agency Inc) and GM could not help me with the cancellation, we paid GM for the warranty not some other company. We are out all moneys paid for warranty and lost over a year of remaining warranty with no assistance from GM. We have also had to pay for all the evap codes problems which the truck was in for multiple times that should have been covered under warranty, to date lost money is about $6,000. We spoke with GM corporate multiple times asking for assistance only to be offered a $3,000 certificate towards a new truck. My truck has only 88,000 miles. REALLY no help with warranty or reimbursement for all the expenses paid because now we don't have a warranty. After the first two repairs to the Evap I had to refuel and when opening the gas cap the built up pressure blew the cap out of my hand and i was sprayed with fuel mist straight in the eyes requiring fire rescue to be called to treat me. This was caught on video during the second opening of the fuel cap. Tank vented for nearly a minute. I have wrote to the CEO of GM and asked for more assistance other then a $3,000 check that I won't except. I'm writing this now because a neighbor has just taken his truck into the same Chevy Dealership in Venice Fl that I had the experience with and was told his transmission is shot. What are the chances of that. Please beware fellow Chevy owners you may be left out in the cold just like us. might be time to retire my old Chevy hat and get a new Ford hat.

If you are reading this then thank you very much for taking the time to listen to a long time Chevy customer. To the point. My name is Scott Hart, My wife is Maryann, we are both in our 60's and have owned our first ever business for the last four years. Our company is Above Board Marine Construction. We are located in Englewood Florida and employ 3 people plus our self's, We are a small Mom and Pop Business that Build and repair boat docks and boat lifts in our area. We strive to be the best most honest customer driven Company in our region. we have maintained a 5 star google rating over the years. We bought a 2016 Chevy 2500 HD used from a dealer here in Florida in 2017 with 16,000 miles on it. At the same time we called our family friend Bill Deluca who owns Deluca Chevy in Haverhill Massachusetts and asked him to sell us the best Chevy warranty available, We purchased a Platinum Chevy protection plan (Amynta Agency Inc) good till 6/13/2022 or 121622 miles, Contract # 9134375158. Last week I brought the truck into Jenkins Chevy in Venice Fl regarding an error code (p0455) Evap leak in the fuel system. I asked them to please check transmission fluid and told them the truck has slipped going in between gears 3 or 4 times in the last couple of years, It didn't seem like a big deal. but better safe then sorry. I received a call from the service department informing me that the transmission was completely gone. I was a bit shocked as I had driven it in there with no apparent problem. At that time I was informed that the Chevy warranty would not cover this because my truck is lettered with my company name and my contractors license number and they observed my flip ball tow hitch ( I have 2 trailers with Different size hitches). My Chevy truck is my personal vehicle. I pull my personal boat trailer and a box trailer with it. I was Informed that a warranty rep. called my truck commercial and for that reason it would not be covered under the Chevy warranty. Please know that my truck has been at Jenkins Chevy previously for repairs with the company lettering on it. It was never a problem. We have a customer that is a manager for State Farm Insurance and works with Chevy warranties. I was told by him that Chevy changed from Amynta to State Farm. This gentlemen explained to me that if State Farm was the insurer on this that they would most definitely cover it. he also explained that Amynta's term commercial was their opinion only and using it to deny the claim as the truck is not registered as commercial. We own only the one truck and that is my only vehicle. We have been trying to get this resolved for a week now while my truck sits at the dealership. this is quite a setback for our company as my wife and I are sharing her car to do site sales visits and going to the permitting office. My workers drive their own vehicles to the job. Bill Deluca Has been tirelessly trying to resolve this for us as he does not agree with the denial. This whole experience is costing our company a lot of lost time and money. The dealership wants $6500 to repair the truck. We are not a big company that can afford that kind of hit in our bank account. We bought this warranty to avoid having to make a large out of pocket expense in the event of a major problem with the truck. We just want to be treated fairly by Chevy. We are the all American family trying to succeed, we buy American. We have a son serving 18 years in the US Army and has been shot down three times and drives his Chevy truck. Maryann bought a 2011 brand new Chevy Cruz and at 72,000 miles it lost the transmission and had some other major issues. we paid for a new transmission and never complained. I apologize for the long email but we have stood by our Chevy's and are now asking for Chevy to stand behind us (LIKE A ROCK).
Thank You

I am writing to again today asking for further assistance regarding the matter of my 2016 Chevy 2500HD. I have been back and forth with (Daniel
Chevrolet Executive Resolution Liaison
(855) 880-1500 ext 5924407
Service Request #:9-6669512981).
As helpful as Daniel is trying to be. It seems GM is just trying to get me to except a resolution in the form of a $3,000 loyalty certificate for the purchase of a new truck to put an end to this matter. To restate my concerns, Gm transferred my warranty to a third party previously mentioned. In asking GM for help with this company I have been told they have no oversight in this matter, I bought this warranty through Gm at a Chevy dealer They have cancelled my warranty after bringing my truck in for service because of the lettering on my truck, I have since talked to an attorney who advised me that they accepted my trucks warranty, as it was in for service before with the lettering on it. ( legal doctrine of waiver). So now I am fighting a battle on two fronts. Chevy with my truck and warranty company for the return of my warranty or reinstatement and pay for the recent out of pocket expense regarding the recent issues with my truck. My truck is now in *** Chevy again after the most recent event which as follows. I pulled in to refuel three days ago, when opening the fuel cap it blew out of my hand and the tank vented fuel at high velocity for about one minute spraying fuel into my eyes, I pushed cap back on and dumped a bottle of water over my eyes, At that point I recorded the reopening of the cap and the venting. (video sent to Daniel in an email). Station attendant called fire rescue and they flushed my eyes some more water and wanted to take me to the emergency room. My truck had originally gone in for evap system error codes, I had to return truck again after repair for more evap system error codes the following morning. after about another week was this latest incident. Wednesday afternoon I sent an email with the video to Daniel, still have not had a response or any sign of concern over me being blasted in the face with gasoline. I am again without my truck for two days and counting. So I have now paid $1,300 for the first services and I am now told it will cost another $817.00 to replace more of the fuel system. Most of this would have been covered under my GM warranty minus deductible. I've been a loyal Chevy customer, As described in my previous email our Chevy Cruz suffered major issues including replacement of the transmission at 70,000 miles. It seems GM wants me to remain a loyal GM customer by offering a loyalty check that doesn't nearly cover my expenses that should have been covered by GM warranty on this truck. I am now going to sell or trade this truck. I would prefer to stay Chevy but I believe it is time for Chevy to show their loyalty to me. I'm trying to resolve this matter personally between the two of us.
Thank You
