Yep. Mine does. I babied my 2023 6.2l break-in, and at just 4400 miles it STILL spun a rod bearing on cylinder three. Warranty replaced the engine. I babies the new engine even more, and just last night, I started getting slip shifts, hard shifts, then the MIL/CEL came on. So, here I am, furious, looking for answers, and about to fight for a replacement vehicle under lemon law since it meets my state's requirements.

Default 6.2 (2023 Bad Bore Issues)

Same thing happened on my 2023 Escalade GM bought it back last month. This was my 8th GM truck Denali, Silverado, Sierra, Tahoe, Suburban had them all first time I ever did anything other than oil change or brakes before 100k miles. I was shocked since I paid north of $100k.

The dealer found metal shavings in the oil pan and GM required a new engine (vs. dealer-rebuild).

It has taken 3 months so far to have the replacement engine escalated and sent to Dealer.

I know there were a rash of 6.2L problems in 2021 to mid-2022 when the lifters were redesigned and I was hoping they were behind us...

Anyone else hearing of 6.2L engine failures in the 2023 Silverado?
The thrust bearings are flawed and clog the engine. The first symptons are that the starter goes. Then after a couple starters, the fuse box and wiring harness melt. You may replace a battery or two as well. Then you get stuck where the starter cannot turn the engine. Jumping will not help. Then the engine the engine sezzes up. THe lifters are just another symptom. They have replaced a large amount of engines and cannot state for sure that they fixed the problem. We are turning ours in as Lemon and are unsure of what to replace it with as Chevy does not provide facts

Default Replacement 6.2 issues

My 2023 Silverado 6.2 with 10K miles had the failure. Engine is getting replaced. My question is what are everyone’s experience with the replacement engines? Does the replacement have the same issues?

Good luck everyone

Default 2023 Suburban z71 6.2L Low oil problems

My 2023 chevrolet suburban z71 6.2l had Engine Oil Low Add Oil light come on at 40% oil life before My first oil change. I quickly made an appointment for a oil change and told the dealer what had happened they said they didn't find anything wrong or didn't see this light come on when they had it. I'm Now getting ready for My 2nd oil change and once again my Engine Oil Low Add Oil light came on again at 38% Now it only came on once and hasn't came back on but now a day later I decided to check the oil and add if needed. I was surprised to find out it wasn't even registering on the dipstick I had to add a full qrt and then some? What could be the cause of this ? Any suggestions on what I should tell my dealer when I take it in this can't be good I have older cars that Don't even burn that much oil between oil changes and I'm only at 13500 miles

Take it into the dealership so they can document the low oil level. They will likely begin a testing procedure to verify that the engine is consuming oil as part of the diagnostic process. It might take a few months in order to come to a conclusion, but it must be done to determine if the engine is consuming oil or losing oil through leaks. If there is excessive oil consumption then the factory will authorize more diagnostics and potential repairs/replacement.

DO NOT ADD ANY OIL UNTIL YOU SEE THE DEALERSHIP'S SERVICE DEPARTMENT!!!!!

Swing by the dealership and have the service manager watch, verify the oil level and document it before you add the oil. Problem solved and documented. Then take it in on Aug 31 and go from there.

MY MOTOR HAD TO BE REPLACED AT 13,000 miles . Been a month now. They have no time line when I’ll have my Tahoe back. Yay…
