I have had my 2023 Chevy Silverado for 15 months (bought new) and the back-up camera suddenly stopped working. Unfortunately I have 50,000 miles on it so the warranty is gone. Anyway, has anyone else had this happen? Dealership said it will be around $500 to remedy and replace. Have had many vehicles with back-up cameras for a lot longer than 15 months and the cameras never stopped working.

 

No, those things usually never break. Sucks yours gave out so quick and after your out-of-warranty. My dad had the Lexus dealership do some work on his car when it was out of warranty but they put it under warranty cause he drove it so few miles. Maybe you can try the same logic with the Chevy dealership, the backup camera shouldn't be affected by the number of miles you've driven, and it should last much longer than just 15 months.
