Default Airflow issues

Hello all. 2019 2500HD LT Z71.

AC works great but air is coming out of the floor and dash vents whether I select split or dash. It will change to floor only or defrost only and work perfectly. But on dash only or split dash/floor it blows like it's on split.

Anyone have this issue before? I'm assuming some diverter motor but again works perfectly on defrost or floor only.

Any help would be appreciated!

It sounds like the mode actuator is not working right. Are you hearing any clicking or ticking in the dash when you switch from floor to dash to defrost? Clicking/ticking is a sign of a bad actuator.

OR, the panel it moves is broken.

You really need to see how the HVAC system is put together using a factory service manual in order to be be certain.

Good Luck!

Thank you. No there is no clicking sounds and as I said when I select floor or defrost it works perfectly. Just no difference between split when selecting split or dash.

Something is definitely amiss. Time to visit an HVAC shop that has the correct testing tools.
