I’m looking at buying a 2023 Chevy 3500HD LTZ Biodiesel 4x4 dually to pull a fifth wheel. I know nothing about diesels so I’m new to the game. However, I wasn’t sure if 2023 was a good year for the 3500 diesels. Any info you can sure is much appreciated.

 

Few changes is any for the LML engine after 2012. Biodiesel will gel and so a heater was added to the Duramax engines starting in 2011. Check carcomplaints.com for more information as well as Duramax specific forums. Be aware that replacing the fuel injectors is a very expensive job and their life is much shorter with a very dirty fuel like diesel. Good idea to invest in second fuel filter upstream of the factor fuel filter to increase filtration. The factory filter includes water separation for the added filter does not need to do this.
