Default faulty cooling valve in the transmission

Hello
I bought a 2022 Silverado 1500 RST with the Duramax V6 back in September. About a month after I got a Check Engine Light. The Dealership told me it was a faulty cooling valve in the transmission. The part number is 24001355. Apparently because of the recent Auto Union Strike it has no eta from Chevy. Anyone else have this problem? It's been at the dealership for 2 months now with no sign of getting that part.
Thank you!
Joel

Back ordered parts is a big deal not only in the automotive industry. There are things the parts department can do to try to expedite the process. Can order and put a **** case on it and hope that another dealer is willing to sell it (they don't have to) to fill the order. Can do a locate, call the dealer that shows it and ask if they can sell it. I know over the past few months our guys have gone to great length to get parts ( bought parts from other dealers and shipped cross country). Some times they succeed and some times they don't. Some times there isn't a part to be had. Some times it's how hard the parts guy wants to try (there are a lot of guys that won't even try) and some times it's an availability issue.

Default Parts BO

Thank you for the reply. The dealership told me that Chevy hasn’t “released” the part. It is unavailable everywhere. I’ve scoured the internet and even thought I found the part and had them overnight it. Unfortunately something happened during the transaction and I received the wrong part. The one I needed wasn’t available from them either. I didn’t know this was possible to not have a part for a pretty new vehicle. It’s unacceptable. I’m wondering if there is any legal recourse?

I assume they have supplied a loaner for you to use these past two months? Maybe they can (should) source a new transmission and install that, or get you a new vehicle.

I haven’t tried for a loaner. I haven’t really needed the truck besides just having it. But next week we needed it to go on a cross country trip. So I’ll try to get a rental for that. I’m not holding my breath though.

Your dealer should supply you a ride if they can't fix yours in a timely manner
