Default Good Year A/T Tires “NOT”

When I got my new 2500HD this week with the 20” rims and option with the A/T tires (for an additional $200), I saw they were the Good Year Wrangler SR-A. That is a All Season Highway tire and all the local tire stores sell it as a highway tire in my area. My dealer said Good Year claims that is their A/T tire. The Good Year website says it is one of their finest All Season Highway tires. Can someone help me out here? The dealer offered to buy two General Grabbers if I bought the other two. I refused. Opinions anyone? I think they are taking me for a ride.

Mix and match tires? That is NOT a good idea. Id get the same tires all the way around.I used to have GY mudders on my jeep.
They worked great

You misunderstood or I explained it wrong. My new truck was ordered and I payed for the All Terrain tires as a option. It came with Goodyear Wrangler SR-A tires. Those SR-A tires are All Season Highway tires. The dealer said they would replace them with General Grabbers and if I payed for two of them, they would pay for the other two.
I’m supposed to have All Terrain tires when I bought the truck. With my options and tax, your talking $70000 plus. I guess I have to call GM corporate. The dealer called me n said it’s out of there hands. PS I’m a retired heavy equipment mechanic. I basically know a thing or two. Thanks for a reply though. I always had Ford F-350’s. It’s my first time buying a new Chevrolet.

dont fall for the "we'll buy two and you buy two" what they do is buy 4 tires at their cost double the price of the tires and then charge you for "2" but in reality theyre charging you for all 4 (i used to deliver parts to dealerships and would see our price and their suggested retail price which was always x2 of what they paid). make them get the goodyear ATs or technically they didnt hold up their part of the agreement and have voided any contract. which mean you could ask for a full refund of the truck and return it. this is pretty much a bait and switch and its fraud.

bait and switch

Definition of bait and switch

1: a sales tactic in which a customer is attracted by the advertisement of a low-priced item but is then encouraged to buy a higher-priced one

I'm with Irish on this one. Those SR-A's are 100% not all-terrain tires. If my bill of sale says I paid for four AT tires, then by george I'm going to get my four AT tires. They are trying to pull a fast one on you!

Thanks for the reply Irish_alley. Nothing can just go easy. I have a family member that owns tire stores, a whole chain of them. In fact he said the tire on my truck is one of Good Year's All Season Highway Tires. Good Years website says the same. Tire Rack's website says the same. I think this is just going to be a consumption of my time and I'll probably get nowhere with it. I let the dealer know that I don't think it's the end of it. I just have to find the right people to let know about the situation.

By all means, talk to people about it. But ultimately the contract is between you and the dealer.

I would say to them that if they don't give me my tires, then they are dropping their end of the contract and the deal is off . Then I would hand them the keys and tell them I wasn't paying another cent.

Mountainmanjoe,
easier said than done. I gave them $25000 down on it and gave my F350 to my nephew. When I said talking to people, I was thinking GM. Although the dealer called me more than a half dozen times about the matter, they gave me Good Year's 800 number and said call them. (I'd love to start giving names),The dealer said that Good Year told them (the dealer) that the SR-A's is their A/T tire for the Chevrolet pickups. I need to take another ride down to the dealer and make a scene on their busier day in front of the customers. Like I said, It's going to take a lot of my time but I'm not going to let it rest.

They are lying, but anyway it doesn't even matter what somebody said over on the phone. Any sensible human being can see that these are plain jane all seasons. Somebody who sells cars for a living certainly can't look at these tires and tell you with a straight face that these will be any good in rough terrain. Anyway, good luck.

if they know they have to pay you back 25k for a set of tires i bet they'll be finding your some A/Ts real fast. check with BBB, on a side note if theyre not a member of BBB then it doesnt really mean anything but its another thing to try out
