Default How do I enable the automatic Parking Brake

New owner of a 2024 Silverado 1500 High Country.
I'm wondering if there is a setting where when I put the truck in Park, the parking Brake automatically engages.
If so, how is this done?

Thanks!

Welcome to Chevy! Have you checked your manual?

Haven't heard back (yet). My last truck had that feature - thinking not so much on this High Country.

Curious about your last truck and brake operation as I have never heard of that feature, only brake off shifting out of park. What year was that truck; chevy?; when put in park did the parking brake pedal drop by itself just like if you used your foot??

It was a new Ram 1500 Limited and a setting in vehicle set-up. The electronic parking brake automatically engages when put into park (and released when taken out of park).

There isn't any setting to control this feature. You can turn it on and off manually, the brake will automatically set by itself in some situations and release before you take off and you can hold the button down if you were driving and you had no brakes with the brake pedal. It will also activate itself every once and a while to check that it is working correctly if it never auto applies. So in the Chevy it is all automatic. It also states if the battery of the vehicle is getting low on voltage the brake will release or apply if it thinks there isn't enough power to operate like normal. This is how it works in my 2022 anyway.
