Mass Airflow Sensor Trouble
Hello All,
I just bought a certified ‘21 Silverado (4cyl-Turbo) about a month ago. Since then, my check engine light popped on about a week later giving error code P1101. From what I could find online, I need to clean the mass airflow sensor, or replace it. I cleaned it with Mass-Airflow Cleaner, popped it back in and drove another 600miles, then it popped the same code. I did the same thing again, and another 200mi later, same code. I replaced the air filter and the mass airflow sensor at this point with parts from a dealer. 860mi later, popped the same code.
I can unplug the MAF sensor and plug it back in, and if I restart my car, the check engine light turns off.
What do you think the problem could be?
-my voltage-meter while running the car reads ~12-14v
-the wires do not seem damaged or loose going the the sensor

You have to remember that the P1101 DTC is telling you that there is an issue with the MAF System - it is not telling you that there is a problem with the MAF sensor.
Hence, you should be looking at the electrical connections, looking for an air leak, checking the air filter for restrictions, etc.
Here is a webpage with more information:

And, as mountainmanjoe mentioned, isn;t this a warranty issue? I would just let a dealership's service department handle it since it's a "...certified '21 Silverado..."
Good Luck!
