Got a weird issue I’m looking to get some idea on.
Bought a 2021 Chevy Silverado 1500 4.3 V8 with around 55k miles. Recently decided to tow my 28ft 4k weight travel trailer up north to camp. Every time I had to tow up hill either in tow mode or shifting manually or just letting it shift automatically I got “Check ESC system” “Low power mode” “shift into park” and I get a Xmas tree of lights on the dash. Vehicle also would not restart if turned off.. I ended up disconnecting the battery for a few seconds and reconnecting and it would drive like a dream. Bought a scan tool and I’ve attached the code list. Doesn’t happen down hill or flat but only towing uphill after maybe 2 minutes. Disconnecting the battery and reconnecting worked every time. No MIL or any lights on any other time. Normal day to day driving is fine and I have no issues. I work for a Hyundai dealer so I’m not to interested in taking it into the dealer cause the only way to duplicate is to tow uphill and that’s not a feasible thing for them to do. Only possible clue and since it possibly pertains to one of the codes is that a day or so after my wife was following me in her car and said that a couple times the upper 3rd brake light would blink when braking and the right brake light would not work. (One of the codes being a brake switch). I found a TSB for a possible harness pinch but I didn’t see anything. Let me know if anyone has any idea and thanks in advanced.
