Default Oil Issue

I have had to add oil after the last two oil changes. I just assumed that the first time, they just didn't fill it all the way. The second time, I was curious because the second oil change was at the dealer. I had it changed the other day, and the place told me that I might have an oil displacement issue. Has anyone else had this issue? I have no leak, and I don't think it's burning oil, but where is the oil going? Also, if I just keep oil in it, is there any long-term damage that can be done? Thanks for any input

If your oil level is going down over time, that says leak or using/burning it to me. Please post your vehicle specs. I have not heard of "oil displacement issue".

2021 Silverado LTZ 5.3 4WD 76,000 miles.

I also have never heard of this. I have no leaks, and I would think if it was burning, I'd smell it or see smoke. I'm at a loss

You can use oil and see/smell no evidence. How many miles do you go before adding a quart and how many miles on the motor?

I am not sure on how many miles before I have to add. low oil light came on and I had to add 3 quarts both times. I am watching it now. So far not needing to add but I have not driven truck a lot since last oil change. I have 76K on the motor.

Do you routinely check the oil level by pulling the dipstick? Say like once a week, every time you get gasoline, the first Monday of the month?

You need to do this so as to not run the engine too low on oil.

Just as an FYI, I check the oil level in my vehicles weekly, If I am on a trip, I will check the oil level either daily or after filling up with gasoline when I stop for gas.
