2000 astro dash grab handle replacement

How do I replace the dash grab handle above the air bag? I was worried about the air bag going off if I remove the air bag cover. thanks,eyeball

It's possible to disable the airbag while you work on it. Most repair manuals will tell you how.

pull the fuse...... or unhook the battery
