Default 2001 Astro A C air doors

I have a problem that the A C blower is working but no air is coming out of the vents. I think that the air doors are not opening. Where are the doors and how do I get to them?
Any help is appreciated

Common problem is for the vacuum lines to deteriorate. There is a line that runs from the drivers side near the PVC valve, across the front of the engine, to a junction on the passenger side near the HVAC blower. I've replaced this line on a couple vans to get the selector working again.

I am assuming that I have to take off the interior cowling to get to the hose?

To inspect the entire length, yeah. Worst part is getting to the 15mm bolt heads that hold it to the fire wall. I use several extensions on my ratchet to reach them. These are capture bolts, so when they are undone they remain attached to the cover.

Removing the upper fan shroud makes inspecting under the hood easier too.

PM if you want my number for phone support.

I Earl, I am new to this forum... I just purched a 2001 Chevy Astro AWD with only 79,000 mi on it. I really like the van, however it is doing the same exact thing with the blower as you described in your question. The Air is cold and chills the dash but does not blow through the vents. Now there is a new blower noise that makes me shut the fan off quickly to avoid a possible complete breakdown of the fan. Did you get yours fixed? How difficult was it? and any tips would be greatly appreaciated.

He's PMed me a bit following this. Yes, he's got his working again. It was the vacuum line as I suggested. Depending on where the break is, it can be an easy to moderate to repair.

Please describe the blower noise.

Thank you for the response... the blower starts out as a quiet hum and steadily increases in sound to a loud roar... thats when I shut it off... sounds like it might be scraping on something.

Description sounds like a bad bearing in the blower.
