Default 2001 Astro Died......

On Friday Afternoon coming from Sacramento bound to San Franscico My van just died on on a stop light....She ran fine...till i got off the freeway..first stop light ok, just half-way it sputtered then died. The most recent work i had done was the safety recall on the hazard lights, before that cap and rotor plugs, brakes what can be the problem??? I thougt of the fuel filter but the mech said i had fuel pressure. Gas was from chevron....Any thoughts anyone

I'm sticking to what I said on the phone thus far, weakened fuel pump. Swap the fuel filter (should be done every 20K) and check the fuel pressure. 165k is a long way on the stock pump.

I agree! The pressure will show correct off and on! You can buy just the pump and rebuild the module or buy the entire thing!! Take off the filter Motor side 1st...let gas go in a clear clean container. THen take off rear side do the same thing in seperate container. Now take FF and tap it and see if any debi comes out withe gas..if so you MIGHT want to have tank cleaned out during the FP exchange!!

Was about to send you a text on Sunday to see how you were doing with it. Glad to hear it's going again.
