2001 Astro EXT Sport needs repair
Hi,
I have a 2001 Astro that is in need of repairs. In past years, I am the only person to do any work on my Van, I can no longer do any repairs (as much as I'd really like to). I never trusted any shop to do exactly what I wanted. Because I can no longer do the work, I must find a place close to me that I can trust. I know that's asking a lot from a person who always thought repair shops were a rip-off. Being in a wheelchair now prevents me from working on the van. Oh how I hate that! (not doing the work) Got all the tools, got the know how, don't have the physical ability. I have always taken great care of the van.
I need the AC compressor replaced (new drier of course) and have a vacuum leak that causes the engine to idle rough. That's probably a hose that dry rotted or split, past idle it runs fine. I replaced all the 'over hot engine' hoses long ago with silicon. That pesky driver door handle snapped (again), I just can't move around well enough to replace it, even though it isn't that difficult to do.
I have considered giving up driving completely (think about that for a while!) but I am not ready to toss in the towel just yet. At 66 I have a few miles left in me.
So, to cut this long winded post to the chase ... I need to find a trustworthy ONE STOP shop near Ft Lauderdale (not dealer) to put my van back in shape.
Anyone know of such a place? I would appreciate knowing about it also.
Thanks in advance.
Blue
