Are you getting fuel? Do a fuel pressure check to find out. Spray some starter fluid into the throttle body and see if it runs for a few seconds. If it does then you will need a fuel pump.

lots of fuel. Lots of crank on the new battery. Out to check power to plugs then coil etc.. i had a 1998 for 11 years. Zero issues. This one seems lemony

Yes the crank sensor could cause your problems. Is there a check engine light on? If so what are the codes?

Did you check it with a code reader? Autozone or Advance Auto will read the codes for free if you can get it there.
