Sounds like the power steering pump is going out. Astros run the power steering and brakes (hydro boost) via the power steering pump. Fairly straight forward replacement.

Remove air box
Remove upper fan shroud
Remove fan
Remove lower fan shroud
Disconnect hydro lines to power steering pump
Unbolt pump

Reverse to install.

Fill the power steer reservoir.

Bleed the power steering system by running the engine and slowly turning the steering wheel lock to lock 10 times. Checking the reservoir level about half way through. Best to due this with the front wheels either raised or sitting on two layers of cardboard.

Aron can it be the hydro booster itself?

I'd suspect the booster if it was only the brakes having problems. I've never had to replace a booster, but I've replaced power steering pumps a couple times.
