Default That is the fuel pump sound

I can't try to jump it just yet bc my boyfriend is home but we're def gonna try that.

The 2 second sound you hear is the fuel pump priming ( building pressure).
The battery must be fully charged before you can start the engine.

Bendix is a type of starter solenoid and it is a part of the starter, as a unit .
that is the part sitting on the starter and that is where the thick wire is connected. Spring is inside, so don't worry about it.
First of all, just take the battery to any service station and have it fully charged.
One thing! Before I forget. Without starting the engine ( Key turned to ON position only, not to start ) Move transmission shift lever to different positions.
Car can only engage the starter in Park or Neutral positions.
If the vehicle was sitting for months, then the switch may have a build up a layer of non- conductive material, so few times moving the lever from P to 1 and back will do the job.
